The Board of Advisors provide vision and direction for Advalent. The board consists of a select group of individuals with extensive experience in Healthcare & Technology (Capital, Health plans and Healthcare providers) and who have served or are currently serving in senior capacities.
Michelle Gaggini is the President of First Recovery Group, a government-focused subrogation firm, and has significant experience in medical management. Prior to 2014, as President at ADMire Consulting she provided executive consulting services for health plans, managed care organizations and specialty services vendors in health care administration. Earlier, she was in charge of commercial and government health care operations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan where she served as VP of Federal Business and VP of Medicare Advantage Operations and Medical Management. Michelle graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree and earned a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at Eastern Michigan University. She is based in Detroit.
David R. Nelson is a principal at Calvert Health Partners, a healthcare provider services holding company, where he performs consulting and advisory work with leading national consulting practices, operational health services companies and investment firms on the development of new provider and payer models of service delivery. He also guides services and clinical care companies in business development and fundraising strategies. David possess significant CEO, COO and business development experience in both payer and provider operating environments. Prior to his work at Calvert Health, Mr. Nelson served as COO of xG Health Solutions, a for-profit spin-out of Geisinger Health System. David holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Hospital and Health Services Administration from Quinnipiac University and the University of Iowa, respectively. He is based in Baltimore, Maryland.
